Historic residential property at 14 Petriashvili Street to undergo comprehensive structural underpinning
The Mtatsminda District Board is initiating comprehensive structural underpinning works on a residential building located at 14 Petriashvili Street in Vera.
Speaking at a meeting of the Tbilisi Municipal Government, Mayor Kakha Kaladze noted that the project also encompasses the rehabilitation and faithful restoration of the building’s original façade.
“The Mtatsminda District Board is set to undertake the comprehensive rehabilitation of yet another historic building, specifically, the structural underpinning of the residence at 14 Petriashvili Street in Vera. The building, which holds cultural heritage monument status, is designated as a Category III structurally compromised building. It will be reinforced under the framework of the Homeowners’ Association Support Programme. The project provides for the rehabilitation of the structure’s façade and the restoration of its original appearance. Naturally, particular attention will be devoted to every detail, ensuring the entire property is fully restored,” the Tbilisi Mayor noted.
The Mayor further announced that locals will be provided with municipal housing allowances for the duration of the works.
“At present, 19 families reside in this heritage-listed building. During the construction, we will rehouse these families through rent subsidies. Once the structural underpinning is complete, they will be handed fully rehabilitated and properly restored homes. The works are scheduled for completion in March 2027,” stated Kakha Kaladze.
