High temperatures and brief thunderstorms forecast across Georgia on July 21–23
The National Environmental Agency (NEA) has released its weather forecast for Georgia covering the period of July 21–23.
Forecasters predict that despite the relatively high temperatures expected over the coming days, isolated areas across the country will experience brief rain showers accompanied by thunder.
The regional breakdown for the upcoming days is as follows:
Tbilisi: The capital may see light, brief thundery showers. Daytime temperatures will hover between 31°C and 33°C.
Coastal Areas (Batumi, Kobuleti, Anaklia, Poti): Warm and predominantly dry weather is forecast. Daytime temperatures will range from 27°C to 29°C.
Lowlands of Western Georgia (Zestaponi, Kutaisi, Samtredia, Zugdidi, Martvili, Ozurgeti): Scattered brief showers and thunderstorms are expected. Daytime temperatures will reach between 30°C and 32°C.
Mountainous Western Georgia (Ambrolauri, Oni, Tsageri, Shovi, Chiatura, Sachkhere, Khulo, Rikoti Pass): Localised brief thundery showers are anticipated, with daytime temperatures between 30°C and 32°C.
Highlands of Western Georgia (Mestia, Bakhmaro): Isolated brief showers and thunderstorms are forecast. Temperatures during the day will range from 27°C to 29°C.
Kartli (Rustavi, Bolnisi, Marneuli, Gardabani, Gori, Tskhinvali): Localised thundery showers are expected in some areas. Daytime temperatures will sit between 31°C and 33°C.
Kakheti (Sagarejo, Telavi, Gurjaani, Sighnaghi, Lagodekhi, Kvareli, Akhmeta, Dedoplistskaro): Scattered thundery showers are forecast, with daytime temperatures hovering between 31°C and 33°C.
Mountainous Eastern Georgia (Akhaltsikhe, Borjomi, Dusheti, Tianeti, Pasanauri): Isolated brief thundery showers are anticipated. Daytime temperatures will range from 28°C to 30°C.
Highlands of Eastern Georgia (Akhalkalaki, Tsalka, Bakuriani, Gudauri, Omalo): Some areas will see brief showers and thunderstorms. Daytime temperatures are expected to be noticeably cooler, between 23°C and 25°C.
