Heavy rainfall causes problems in Dusheti Municipality

Heavy rainfall has caused problems in Dusheti Municipality in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region..

Following the landslide, the road cleaning works are underway on the central section of the Zhinvali-Barisakhlo-Shatili road, near the village of Kanatia, Dusheti Mayor Matsatso Narimanidze told GPB First Channel, noting that no one was injured in the mudslide.

The landslide also hit the 53rd km of Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Larsi road. The cleaning works are underway there, as well, the Mayor stated.

Two families have been evacuated from Zemo Mleta due to danger, she added.

“The community of Chadijvari, Chilurdia, Ebnisi have been affected. We are reachable 24/7. Those on excursions have also been stuck in the Pshavi area. They are relaxed and will be allowed to travel once the road is cleared. I have constant communication with them,” the Mayor added.
