Heavy rain expected in parts of Georgia through October 3
According to the National Environment Agency, intermittent rain is expected across Georgia from the end of October 1 through the second half of October 3, with locally heavy precipitation forecast in mountainous and high-mountainous areas, as well as in Adjara, Kakheti and Kvemo Kartli regions.
Thunderstorms, hail, strengthening winds and stormy seas with waves reaching 3-4 on the Beaufort scale are also possible.
According to the agency, the expected heavy rainfall may cause significant rises in water levels in rivers and flooding in small rivers, while triggering or intensifying landslide and mudflow processes in hilly and mountainous areas.
The agency has assessed the related hazard level as medium.
