Heavy rain causes flooding and traffic restrictions in Batumi

Heavy rain has been falling in Batumi since early morning, with heavy precipitation causing problems on several streets across the city.

Traffic on Agmashenebeli Street is currently fully restricted due to flooding. Teams from Batumi Water, along with specialized equipment, are working at several locations.

According to Batumi City Hall, up to 30 reports of flooding have been received via the municipality’s hotline so far. Batumi Water crews are responding to calls and pumping water from flooded areas.

The municipality said the drainage system is operating properly, while pumping stations are functioning continuously.

Heavy rainfall has also flooded commercial premises at several locations across the city.
