Hearings for Public Defender candidates begin in Parliament

The Human Rights Protection and Civil Integration Committee will hear from the candidates for Public Defender on October 25.

“The Human Rights Protection and Civil Integration Committee will consider all 19 applications. Interviews with the candidates will begin tomorrow,” Gia Volski, Vice Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, stated at today’s bureau session.

According to Mikheil Sarjveladze, Chair of the Human Rights Committee, the Committee will review all 19 proposals through Saturday.

“The schedule has been created. We will have committee hearings all week, including Saturday. We will be able to evaluate, make decisions, and plan for the plenary session next week,” Mikheil Sarjveladze stated.
