The Health Ministry decided to fund hormone therapy, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and medicines for all patients with oncology diseases throughout the country.
The Ministry said it amended the state healthcare program to increase accessibility to medication.
It further specified that the patients whose annual revenues exceed GEL 40 000 and veterans with insurance would also receive the financing.
“With the decision, treatment of oncological diseases will be equally accessible to each beneficiary, regardless of their income, within the framework of the universal healthcare program. The Georgian government approved the change,” the Ministry said.
