Health Ministry accepts applications for medical treatment of children with oncologic diseases
Georgian Health Ministry kicks off accepting applications for the medical treatment of children with oncologic diseases at foreign hospitals.
Based on the Georgian government’s decision, all children with an oncological diagnosis will have the opportunity to be diagnosed and treated with state funding at the leading clinics of Turkey, Israel, and Spain, with which the ministry signed contracts.
A beneficiary of the program may be a person aged up to 18 with an ICD code of international classification. Parents fill in the application form with the notary-confirmed translations of medical examinations and submit it to a special board of the Health Ministry for review and approval based on the patient’s best interests for the medication process.
The Health Ministry will cooperate with foreign clinics until the whole spectre of medical services of modern standards is available in Georgia. The annual budget of the project is around 30 mln GEL.
