Health Minister: Gov't guarantees treatment of children with oncologic diseases at best foreign clinics
“We have launched a historic project. The government guarantees that all children with oncologic diseases will be treated at the best overseas clinics,” said Zurab Azarashvili, Georgian Minister of Health.
According to the Minister, the budget of the state-funded project is GEL 30 million. Approximately 300 children will be sent overseas annually for diagnostics and medical treatment.
“I am very glad that the recovery likeliness is quite high, and I want to wish all children good health. If any engagement is required from our side, we are always ready,” he said.
On July 20, Georgia inked agreements with partner facilities for the overseas medical treatment of children with oncologic diseases aged up to 18.
According to the Georgian government’s decision, all children with an oncological diagnosis will be able to be diagnosed and treated with state funding in leading facilities in Turkey, Israel, and Spain.
