Health Minister and Roche Pharma CEO discuss Elevidys gene therapy for Duchenne muscular dystrophy

Minister of Health Mikheil Sarjveladze has met with Teresa Graham, Chief Executive Officer of the Pharmaceuticals Division at the Swiss pharmaceutical company Roche, according to a statement released by the Ministry of Health of Georgia.

The Ministry reported that during the meeting, the two sides discussed ongoing co-operation between Georgia and Roche.

“Discussions touched upon current and future avenues of co-operation in the healthcare sector, with particular focus on potential joint work regarding oncology treatments.

The discussion also addressed the drug Elevidys, which is used in the treatment of Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

The meeting was attended by Lela Sulaberidze, Head of the Strategic Development and Analytics Department at the Ministry of Health; Michael Oberreiter, Head of Global Commercial Operations at Roche; and Maka Asatiani, Head of Roche Georgia for the Caucasus region,” the Ministry’s statement read.
