Health condition of two teens injured in Vera shooting stable, clinic says

The condition of two teenagers injured in the shooting in Tbilisi’s Vera district is stable, according to Shmagi Chiokadze, Executive Director of Healthycore Clinic.

Chiokadze said the two patients, aged 17 and 18, were admitted to the clinic at around 10:00 p.m. on July 22. One sustained an open wound to the left shoulder, while the other suffered an injury to the left hand.

“Both required surgery, and both operations were successful. At this time, their condition is stable and there is no threat to their lives or health,” Chiokadze said.

He added that both patients remain conscious and communicative and will stay in the clinic for several more days to undergo rehabilitation.

“The wounds are under observation. Whether they were caused by a firearm or another type of weapon will be determined by forensic experts,” he said.

Police have arrested one person in connection with the fatal shooting in the Vera district.

According to Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, the suspect allegedly opened fire on four people on July 22 before fleeing the scene. All four victims were taken to hospital, but one of the injured—a minor—died shortly after being admitted.
