Gudauri to host Ski Cross World Cup stages on February 28 and March 1
Gudauri will welcome athletes for the World Cup stages in the Ski Cross discipline on February 28 and March 1.
A total of 97 competitors from 14 countries—including the USA, Canada, Great Britain, Austria, Chile, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Switzerland, Sweden, the Czech Republic, and Georgia—will participate in this prestigious international event. Davit Tediashvili will represent Georgia in the competition.
The event will receive coverage from international media and will be broadcast live on Eurosport. It is organized with the support of the Government of Georgia, the Mountain Trails Agency (MTA) of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, and the Ski Federation.
This competition takes place under the auspices of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) and marks the second time that the World Cup stage in ski cross will be held in Georgia.
Last year, Bakuriani hosted the event, which received high acclaim from the FIS. Consequently, Bakuriani and Gudauri have been included in the permanent calendar of FIS-sanctioned competitions, a significant acknowledgement of Georgia as a mountain tourism destination.
Additionally, it is noteworthy that during the 2024-2025 winter season, Georgia successfully hosted the World Cup stage in the mogul discipline, which was also praised by the FIS for its infrastructure and organizational excellence.
Following the ski cross competition, the Snowboard Cross World Cup is scheduled in Gudauri on March 8-9.
