Greek police arrested Georgian driver transporting 41 illegal migrants

Greek police have arrested the truck driver, Georgian national, who was transporting 41 illegal migrants. The Greek edition Ekathimerini reports in this regard.

According to edition, the driver of refrigerator truck was detained after police stopped the vehicle near Xanthi City, northern Greece and found the migrants in an inspection.

According to initial reports, the migrants are from Afghanistan though police are running identity checks to confirm.

The fridge was not operating at the time when the vehicle was stopped, reports said.

The arrested driver was taken to the police station for questioning.
