GPB's First Channel urges Strong Georgia, political actors to conform to behavior rules

The GPB’s First Channel released a statement.

“We would like to remark on the latest aggression of Ana Dolidze, leader of the Strong Georgia coalition towards the GPB reporters and the organization. As it seems, Ana Dolidze attempts to provoke confrontation and discredit the GPB. We are concerned about her aggression towards reporters at rallies that could lead to uncontrolled processes and create a threat to the security of journalists and their accompanying shooting team leaving aside the impediment to journalistic work.

Her purposeful and ungrounded negative campaign against the GPB artificially turns the organization into the target of aggression that could threaten all those, who work in the Public Broadcaster. It is noteworthy that Ana Dolidze’s behavior is followed by other political leaders and this intensifies and confirms our concern over hazardous trend.

We categorically condemn such behavior and urge the political union Strong Georgia and other political actors to acknowledge their responsibility for possible negative consequences and conform to the overall behavior rules in relation to reporters and our media organization.”
