GPB marks jubilee with large-scale project

Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB) marks the 65th jubilee of Georgian Television with a large-scale project. The construction works at the GPB new building planned for 2021 are complete.

The building’s foundation was laid on December 30, 2020. Construction works did not interrupt despite the Covid-19 pandemic. As a result, the frame of the main building and TV pavilions are almost complete one year later. A total of 16 million GEL have been invested.

Interior works will begin in 2022, and the GPB new building will be ready in 16 months based on the contract.

The First Georgian Television turned 65 today. Legendary presenters Lia Mikadze and Aleksandra Machavariani went on air for the first time from a studio at the Tbilisi Funicular at 20:00 on December 30, 1965.
