GPB General Director – Public Broadcaster represents and will be the media outlet of highest standards
Georgian Public Broadcaster represents and will be the media outlet of highest standards – Tinatin Berdzenishvili, General Director of Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB) said.
GPB General Director evaluated the balloting process held earlier today by GPB Board of Trustees where 8 members voted for her candidacy.
“The decision was logical, started work must continue when it has to do with technical refurbishment, a new building – This is a process already launched and there is a decision of Board of Trustees, the decision that all this has to be done.
We often forget that besides media content, content of the product, which is the most important for me, there are management processes. I always say that certain figures should be taken into consideration in management of the organization. This can be compared to an Excel file, the process is difficult, and what I mean is that a new person in the organization will have difficulty in arranging the process, understand what is going on and then manage the process.
Obviously, the most important part of the process is journalism. Questions often arise regarding what will be the course of Public Broadcaster and perhaps media standard is meant. I can assure out viewers and I will try my best to talk about this everyday that Public Broadcaster, which has a 70-year-long history, has the European path, already passed and fought. It is the statement of Public Broadcaster that it represents and represent the media outlet of highest standards,” Berdzenishvili said.
As for the role of Public Broadcaster in covering of the forthcoming parliamentary elections, GPB General Director said that it was a hard task but GPB was prepared well.
“This is a difficult process, indeed. But everything has a positive side. I am already engaged in the process. Training has been ongoing in the organization for one year, reports are published and media monitoring system is activated, we prepared well. I would like to ask everybody that when we talk about publicity, follow us, we publish all information. We are trying to be maximally open and transparent. However, it is said “never say never” – therefore, with much attention, caution and assessment criteria, we will deliver the message to the viewers and will be very proactive,” Berdzenishvili said.
The Board of Trustees of Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB) elected Tinatin Berdzenishvili as GPB General Director today.
