GPB First Channel has issued a statement, saying “The viewer is watching live the unprecedented pressure exerted on GPB First Channel journalists, with representatives of certain television channels acting particularly purposefully and provocatively, and we are not being allowed to work.”

“We categorically demand to be allowed to perform our professional duties. The only promise we made to our viewers is that First Channel was and will remain free and will protect editorial independence regardless of any pressure.”
