GPB First Channel releases survey findings for VOD platform

GPB First Channel has released the survey findings for the VOD (Video on Demand) platform.

The survey sought to study viewer behavior, namely how well the public recognizes and uses Georgian and international VOD platforms, online video platforms that entail video products, live streaming, fast forwarding, etc.

The online survey method was used to perform the research. The questionnaire was sent through GPB’s numerous communication and social networks, as well as to universities with which GPB has signed a memorandum of cooperation.

Beginning with the new season, GPB will introduce a new BVOD (Broadcaster video on demand) platform that will provide viewers with top-notch Georgian products. As modern lifestyles significantly alter traditional viewing habits, particularly among young people, public broadcasters actively provide BVOD services to their audiences.

The online poll was completed by 1,560 participants between June 8 and June 22. According to the findings, just 36% of respondents now use VOD platforms. 89.3 percent, on the other hand, wished for the new, free Georgian VOD platform.

The majority of respondents named Georgian films, Georgian TV series, and Georgian documentaries as the preferred products on the Georgian VOD platform.

For the record, GPB is one of the key contributors to the Georgian creative industry.
