GPB First Channel Media Director elected to EBU Radio Committee

Rusudan Manjgaladze, Media Director of the GPB’s First Channel, has been elected as a member of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) Radio Committee.

The Director General of the Georgian Public Broadcaster’s First Channel, Tinatin Berdzenishvili, and Media Director Rusudan Manjgaladze are currently participating in the EBU Radio Assembly hosted by France’s public radio.

Elections for the EBU Radio Committee were held during the Radio Assembly.

The Radio Committee seeks to promote the interests and representation of radio within the European Broadcasting Union, which encompasses members dedicated exclusively to radio as well as those providing both radio and television broadcasts to their audiences.

This year’s assembly agenda includes discussions on industry challenges and the complex relationships between European public radio broadcasters.

Georgian Public Broadcaster has been an active member of the EBU since 2005.

It’s worth noting that 2025 marks the 100th anniversary of radio broadcasting in Georgia. Georgian Radio, the first in the South Caucasus region, began its broadcasts in 1925.
