GPB engages in selfless blood donation support campaign

A meeting held at the Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB) First Channel primarily focused on the promotion of selfless, regular blood donation and attraction/maintenance of donors to increase the number of voluntary donors.

As part of the National Center for Disease Control’s “National campaign to support and attract selfless blood donation,” a meeting with employees of the GPB First Channel was held at the initiative of the Georgian Health Federation.

The significance of blood donation was underlined, as were the hazards involved in blood donated in exchange for monetary compensation.

The organization’s officials also answered those in the audience’s questions.

Under European directives, legislation will enter into force in Georgia on July 1, 2025, making monetary donations solely voluntary and based on the altruism principle.
