Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB) Director General, Tinatin Berdzenishvili, is participating in the European Broadcasting Union’s 2025 Central and Eastern European (CEE) Leadership Summit. Within the framework of the summit, the challenges and opportunities facing the public media are being discussed.
The 2025 Central and Eastern European Leadership Summit in Brussels has been attended by more than 30 leaders from 16 countries. The summit, centred on the theme of leadership in volatile times, opened with a keynote speech from former European Parliament President Martin Schulz. Participants also heard from RTBF Director General Jean-Paul Philippot.
A significant feature of this year’s summit is the European Broadcasting Union’s invitation to European decision-makers to participate in a critical discussion about the future role of public media at the EU level.
As part of the summit, leaders of public broadcasters convened a meeting at the European Parliament to share perspectives and foster meaningful dialogue between media representatives and policymakers.
The Public Broadcasters’ Leadership Summit involves discussions, speeches, and the exchange of strategic visions among participants.
The 2025 CEE Leadership Summit is being hosted in Brussels by RTBF (Belgium’s public broadcaster) and the EBU (European Broadcasting Union).
