The Georgian Public Broadcaster’s Board of Trustees held a meeting on Tuesday in the First Channel’s new premises.

Board members met with the head of the news service, producers of Moambe [news program], and talk show hosts.

GPB First Channel employees have addressed the accusations against the public broadcaster over the past few months. They categorically denied any interference in editorial policy and called on the authors of such accusations to present specific evidence.

It was also stated that the recent developments around the Georgian Public Broadcaster, including accusations, bullying, and insults, are externally controlled processes.

During the meeting, it was decided that GPB First Channel’s lawyers would begin investigating the allegations related to the channel’s management and coverage of processes. The results will be provided to the public, members of the Board of Trustees, and the authors of the accusations.

After meeting with the employees, the Director General and their Deputy addressed the Board of Trustees meeting.
