GPB airs Women's Rugby World Cup for first time, Dir/Gen says

For the first time in Georgian history, GPB will exclusively broadcast the opening and play-off matches of the Women’s Rugby World Cup. The event will take place between October 8 and November 12, 2022.

GPB Director General Tinatin Berdzenishvili dubbed it “a paramount event for women’s sports development.”

“GPB First Channel begins its sports fall with the Women’s World Cup matches in Rugby, a paramount event for women’s sports development, beginning on October 8,” GPB Director General Tinatin Berdzenishvili said.

Berdzenishvili also highlighted that the GPB broadcasted the 2022 UEFA European Women’s Football Championship this summer.

On top of that, the GPB will exclusively offer viewers the Rugby World Cup 2023, which will be played in nine French cities from September 8- September 28, 2023. Paris’ Stade de France will host the first and final matches.
