Gov't to kick off kindergarten construction/rehabilitation program in January

Starting 1 January 2023, the Georgian government will begin the three-stage, 1,3 bln GEL kindergarten construction and rehabilitation program as the kindergartens across the country are in “a very poor condition.” About 885 kindergartens require construction and rehabilitation. Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili estimated that the first phase of the programme would cost 100 million GEL.

On top of that, the government will also build and rehabilitate around 800 schools across the country as Garibashvili believes “the future generation should grow up in a healthy, and good environment.”

“We boosted the budget for education by 400 million GEL, as part of which we plan to build and renovate 500 schools, but we would also allot more than 150 million GEL. Additionally, more than 30 million GEL will be set aside for the construction of computer labs in schools,” he added
