Gov't consistently demonstrated its commitment to human rights protection, PM says
On International Human Rights Day, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili stated, “The Georgian government seeks to create and constantly develop mechanisms that ensure the effective protection of human rights and freedoms with the involvement of each branch of government, public agencies, and interested parties.”
The PM stressed the government “has consistently demonstrated its commitment to human rights protection, which entails the development of coherent and long-term policies.”
“The Georgian parliament approved the National Human Rights Strategy (2024-2026) in March. An active effort has been conducted to implement the strategy goals.
Efforts to defend human rights and enhance democracy bring us closer to the European family, and our ultimate aim – Georgia’s full integration into the European Union,” the Prime Minister stated.
