Gov't announced Anaklia Port infrastructure design, construction tender

The international tender has been announced for the design and construction of the marine infrastructure of the Anaklia Port, following the procurement procedures of the World Bank, the Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported.

The tender documentation has been sent to four major companies in the industry: Boskalis, DEME, Jan De Nul, and Van Oord, all having extensive experience in marine works.

“Involving these companies was decided after consulting with the international consulting company HAEDES B.V., hired by Anaklia Sea Port LLC to ensure the timely and high-quality execution of work.

The procurement process will follow a one-stage procedure using limited international market approaches, where invited bidders will submit technical and financial proposals.

The proposals will be evaluated by a tender commission created by Anaklia Sea Port LLC, along with international consultants, and the winning proposal will be selected based on the highest total score, combining the technical and financial aspects.

The process allows for 45 days for bidders to ask clarifying questions and prepare competitive tender proposals,” the Ministry states.

Anaklia Sea Port LLC, established by the state in 2023, has already undertaken preparatory works for marine infrastructure construction and has acquired the necessary land plots.

The Anaklia port implementation project will create thousands of new jobs, improve the socio-economic condition of the local population, enhance the competitiveness of Georgia’s transport corridor, attract new cargo flows, and stimulate the development of production and logistics services in the region.
