Governments of Georgia and Slovakia sign economic cooperation agreement
The governments of Georgia and Slovakia signed an economic cooperation agreement as part of the Tbilisi Silk Road Forum.
Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Genady Arveladze and Vladimír Šimoňák, the State Secretary at the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic, signed the agreement.
Both parties agreed to contribute to the deepening of economic, technical, and technological cooperation, including the organisation of joint activities for business communities.
The agreement also envisages the establishment of a joint commission for economic cooperation, within the framework of which important economic issues between the two countries will be addressed.
Genady Arveladze and Vladimír Šimoňák met to review the trends in bilateral economic cooperation. They emphasised the importance of launching direct flights, which will bolster Georgia-Slovakia collaboration in the tourism sector.
The parties also discussed the potential for convening a meeting of the Economic Cooperation Commission early next year.
