Government to build Police City

The government will build residential blocks, to be called Police City, at Politkovskaia Street in Tbilisi, Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili announced when laying the foundation for the construction together with Minister of Internal Affairs, Vakhtang Gomelauri.

The PM remarked that approximately one thousand police officers would receive flats when the construction completed after 2 years. The construction is launched and the project value is GEL 125 million.

“The police officers will pay GEL 300 per square meter and the government will cover the rest of the expenses,” Garibashvili said, pledging such projects will continue in the future.

“I would like to express my gratitude to our hero police for protecting our citizens, the country, and its security,” he said.
