Government strongly condemns violations of territorial integrity, Committee Chair addresses Bichvinta issue
The claim that the government is silent on the topic of Bichvinti cottages is entirely false, stated Mikheil Sarjveladze, the Chair of the Human Rights Protection Committee.
He emphasized that the government has clearly, openly, and unequivocally stated its position on the matter.
“We are unwaveringly opposed and strongly condemn any action that violates the principle of Georgia’s territorial integrity. The occupation in Georgia must come to an end. The only thing we do not do against the vicious and reprehensible phenomenon of occupation is that we do not declare war. The government is actively taking all possible measures to thwart the ongoing processes in the occupied territories,” Sarjveladze asserted.
The so-called parliament of the occupied Abkhazian region ratified the agreement on the transfer of the Bichvinta summer house to the Russian Federation.
