Government extends permission for social logging until 2027

The population will be allowed to collect firewood from forests for an additional year, until January 1, 2027. The relevant amendments are included in the Forest Code, which previously granted this right only until January 1, 2026.

According to the draft law, the extension is intended to address the social needs of individuals who depend on firewood for heating. The document states that, considering citizens’ social interests, the issuance of timber harvesting tickets for collecting firewood will remain permissible until January 1, 2027.
