Gov't aims to deepen US-Georgia relations further, PM says

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili Monday said that the government aims to deepen US-Georgia relations further.

PM’s remark came after he appointed former Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani as a new Ambassador to the United States.

Garibashvili thanked Zalkaliani for his work over the years and wished him success in his new role.

“The United States is our most important strategic partner. Naturally, when our government appoints a person of such wealthy diplomatic experience to such a responsible position, it says it all. Our task is to step the relations between these two countries up to a notch. I believe Mr Zalkaliani will be able to do it successfully,” PM asserted.
