Government Administration Head: Georgia to launch 3,000 paid civil service internships for young graduates this September

“It is highly important for us to bring fresh blood and a new generation into the civil service. From the first of September, we will be announcing approximately 3,000 vacancies for paid internships,” stated Levan Zhorzholiani, Head of the Government Administration of Georgia.

As Zhorzholiani noted, nearly 50% of last year’s internship participants either extended their placements or secured full-time employment within the state institutions where they trained.

“Through this scheme, an entirely new generation of motivated young people is entering public institutions to serve their country, gain experience, improve their qualifications, and expand their knowledge.

Believe me, the insights and expertise gained in the public sector can benefit these young individuals at any stage of life, including in the business world, and we are incredibly supportive of this programme.

This is the Prime Minister’s initiative. We have requested local municipalities to increase their internship quotas so that more young people have the opportunity to complete a paid internship within their own regions,” Zhorzholiani said.
