Givi Mikanadze appointed Minister of Education, Science and Youth
Givi Mikanadze has been appointed as Georgia’s new Minister of Education, Science and Youth.
Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze introduced him during a briefing at the Government Administration.
Prior to his appointment, Mikanadze served as Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Education, Science and Youth Affairs.
“It is a great honour for me to lead a ministry that touches every citizen and plays a vital role in shaping future generations. In the 21st century, development is impossible without education and science,” Mikanadze stated.
He emphasized that the reforms initiated by his predecessor, Aleksandre Tsuladze, will continue.
“I thank Aleksandre Tsuladze for his work. The reforms currently underway remain a priority. We will take active steps to accelerate these reforms and ensure the highest quality standards. I am fully committed to using the trust placed in me by the Prime Minister to serve our society and country. The success of this ministry is directly tied to the success of our nation,” he added.
Mikanadze replaces Aleksandre Tsuladze, who officially announced his resignation today.
