Girchi's Rakviashvili: We have to be very careful in settling relations with China
“We must remember that China is the most aggressive and tyrannical country in the world, much worse than Russia, and we are lucky that it is not our neighbor,” said Girchi opposition party member, Aleksandre Rakviashvili.
“From this perspective, it is a great political danger, and we should approach the setting up of relations with China with great care,” he said.
“Why not, if these discussions result in Georgia and China having even closer economic ties? Despite this, we shouldn’t permit any kind of political rapprochement with China.
Investing is always a good idea. The government building a port and making money, even in China, is already a problem because it becomes a political problem.
Chinese investment is not a problem, nor is Russian, Turkish, or any other country’s investment. The problem is that the government interferes in the economy, and this is not the economy, this is the politics,” Rakviashvili added.
