Girchi says human rights system falls in hands of villains

“If the human rights system is solid in Georgia, I have nothing against it, but this system has fallen in the hands of villains,” said Iago Khvichia, leader of the Girchi party.

Iago Khvichia told the GPB’s First Channel that human rights could hardly be protected in the country in conditions of the Murusidze-Chinchaladze court (two designated judges in the Georgian judicial system).

“The court system has served the political government’s protection from people since the period of Mikheil Saakashvili’s (ex-president) rule,” he said.

European Union published an annual report on human rights and democracy in the world based on which Georgia has a solid human rights framework in line with the international and EU standards.
