Girchi leader: Friendship with Georgia to be convenient for other countries

“If we continue so, other countries will soon face inconvenience in friendship with Georgia,” Iago Khvichia, leader of the Girchi party told the GPB’s First Channel.

According to Khvichia, the decision of the Pentagon should serve as “a wake-up call” for the Georgian people, who must react at the October 26 parliamentary elections.

“It is like a wake-up call for the Georgian people, and before the Georgian Dream leads us to the ravine, we have to think of something for the fall. I believe these messages will become clearer with time since the latest moves of the Georgian government threaten the presence of friends for Georgia.

If Georgia continues so, other countries will soon face inconvenience in friendship with the country. We should change that situation. This negative message can be used in a positive context only in one case – to wake us to make a change in autumn,” he said.

On July 5, the US Department of State announced the indefinite postponement of the Noble Partner exercise in Georgia, originally scheduled for July 25 – August 6, 2024, as part of the US-Georgia relationship review.
