Giorgi Kakhiani: Fact that entire opposition managed to gather about 6,000 people shows that public does not want unrest and destabilization

The fact that the entire opposition spectrum managed to gather about 6,000 people shows that the public does not want unrest and destabilization, – Giorgi Kakhiani, Vice Speaker of the Georgian parliament, one of the leaders of the ruling Georgian Dream party, commented on opposition rally held in front of parliament.

According to him, any person has the right to assemble and express protest.

“We respect freedom of speech, and everyone has the right to assemble and express their protest. It is happening on Rustaveli Avenue. The fact that the entire opposition spectrum was able to gather about six thousand people means only one thing – firstly, the majority of the population in no way believes that the elections were rigged, and, secondly, no one in Georgia wants unrest and destabilization,” – said Giorgi Kakhiani.

He called on political parties to return to the electoral regime, and later to parliamentary life.
