“As soon as the criminal proceedings into the case of misconduct by public servant are launched, I am ready to be the first to give testimonies,” – Georgian Interior Minister Giorgi Gakharia made this statement when answering the questions of the MPs at the parliament.

As the Interior Minister noted, the function of the Fact-finding Commission on Khorava Street murder case was to find out and prove if there were any misconducts by public servants, however as Gakharia noted Commission failed to do it.

“Even today, I don’t know whether the certain investigative activities not carried out into Khorava Street case, were not conducted intentionally or not, or it affected the final result of the investigation or not. As soon as criminal proceedings be launched into misconduct by public servant and I am ready to be the first to give testimonies. I take full responsibility for Khorava Street murder case, but the Parliamentary Commission should also take responsibility for it. I believe that the function of the Fact-finding Commission on Khorava Street murder case was to find out and prove if there were any misconducts by public servants, however, Commission failed to do it.
You discredited Fact-finding Commission, because you did not achieve any results, and instead of getting a result, you start political speculation”, – Minister said.
