Giorgi Gakharia – MIA will never approve pardoning for grave crimes
“Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) will never approve use of mass pardoning mechanism of persons, charged for grave crimes,” Giorgi Gakharia, Minister of Internal Affairs (MIA) told journalists.
Gakharia said that the driving engine of juridical system had to be protection of security of citizens rather than human approach toward criminals.
Vepkhia Bakradze, former step father slit throat to a young woman in presence of two children on April 13 at Barnov Street in Tbilisi. The crime suspect was arrested on April 14. Vepkhia Bakradze, previously convicted on charge of family violence, was reduced prison term through pardoning by President. He left penitentiary facility in May of 2017.
