Georgia as a safe destination is the message Georgian ambassadors must deliver in their respective host countries-Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia, during today’s videoconference with Georgian diplomats abroad, discussed the country’s positioning as an attractive and safe tourist attraction. “According to the Head of Government, even leading European countries praise Georgia’s effective efforts in managing the COVID-19 pandemic, which is why it is crucial to transform crisis into opportunity and relevant achievements into concrete results in terms of branding Georgia as a safe destination.
Members of Georgia’s diplomatic corps, in the nearest future will receive concrete instructions and protocols for foreign tourists entering Georgia to be used in communication with relevant agencies in corresponding host countries. On the Prime Minister’s instructions, the ambassadors will spur work on the establishment of so-called safe green corridors with various countries as a precondition for safe international travel.
The videoconference also focused on Georgia’s new role and place in global investment processes. The COVID-19 pandemic has raised the issue of production diversification on the agendas of the world’s multinational companies, the meeting pointed out, which is why the Georgian ambassadors have been instructed to work in their respective host countries toward cementing Georgia’s image as one of the most business-friendly countries enjoying FTAs with neighboring countries and the world’s largest markets like the EU, China, and others”, – the information released by press office reads.
