Georgian Minister of Internal Affairs Giorgi Gakharia talked about the special operation conducted in Tbilisi clubs on May 12. Minister is addressing MPs at today’s plenary session of the parliament.
Minister thanked the police officers, who took part in the special operation and noted that no fact of use of excessive power had been observed.
“Even if such violations are identified we will respond to it. The special operation was preceded by three-month of investigative activities resulting in factual evidence proving that drug dealing was systematic in the clubs”, – Minister said.
According to him law enforcers revealed the fact which indicates the direct linkage between the drug dealers and the club. “It is the fact when the head of the guard service, a member of administration was selling drugs in one of the clubs”, – he said.
