Giorgi Gabitashvili appointed as new Auditor General in unanimous parliament vote

Giorgi Gabitashvili has been officially appointed as the Auditor General of Georgia. His candidacy was presented for a vote just moments ago during today’s plenary session of Parliament, where he received unanimous support from all 84 members of Parliament.

Parliament’s Speaker Shalva Papuashvili emphasised the importance of the State Audit Office as a vital constitutional institution and wished Giorgi Gabitashvili success in his new role.

Giorgi Gabitashvili’s appointment is for a five-year term.
