Giorgi Gabitashvili has been appointed as the new Prosecutor General of Georgia, after receiving approval from Parliament with 80 votes. His term will last six years.
The voting took place during a plenary session without any discussion.
Gabitashvili’s candidacy, presented by the Prosecutor’s Council, was reviewed at the Committee on Legal Issues meeting.
Giorgi Gabitashvili’s candidacy for Prosecutor General was selected through a vote held on July 11 in the Prosecutor’s Council, where he received the support of 11 members.
