German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock said she closely observed the protest rallies in Tbilisi against the so-called Foreign Agents bill and was very much impressed by seeing Georgian people waving the EU flags.
At the joint press conference held with Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili, Annalena Baerbock said the developments which she observed contribute to the development of civil society.
“I was very much impressed when Georgian women and men came out in Tbilisi streets waving the European flag, all this contributed to the development of civil society. Our experience in Europe is a strong civil society. This is not only a chance, but it is also faith in European values and an impetus. Strong civil society – this is something to be proud of. Georgia is the European Union. Last weeks and latest years confirmed this,” she said.
