Addressing the European Parliament, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz stated the European Union enlargement, including Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova and Western Balkans, is important.
Olaf Scholz stressed that geopolitical Europe was “measured” by how it meets commitments before its neighbours.
The EU has “decided on a big Europe,” the German Chancellor said, adding that “the same applies to Ukraine as it does to the Western Balkan countries, Moldova and, in the future, Georgia.
“We want you to become part of our European Union,” said Scholz.
