GeoStat: Unit Value Index of Agricultural products decreased by 8.1 per cent in Quarter II 

The Unit Value Index of Agricultural Products decreased by 8.1 percent compared to the previous quarter, the National Statistics Service of Georgia (GeoStat) reported.

According to GeoStat, the change was mainly due to a 7.6 percent decrease in the unit value of live animals and animal products, which contributed -4.0 percentage points to the total index change.

Compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous year, the Unit Value Index of Agricultural Products increased by 5.8 percent. The latter was largely caused by the 15.5 percent increase in the unit value of live animals and animal products, which contributed 8.58 percentage points to the total index change.

In the same period, the unit value of perennial crops went up by 1.3 percent and went down by 12.1 percent for non-perennial crops, with the relevant contributions of 0.36 and -3.09 percentage points to the total index change, respectively.
