GeoStat: Kyrgyzstan emerges as Georgia’s top export destination for H1 2026, with Turkey leading imports

According to data released by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GeoStat), the country’s top ten export partners accounted for 69.8% of Georgia’s total exports during January–June 2026.

GeoStat reports that Kyrgyzstan secured the top spot among the three largest export destinations, accounting for USD 431.8 million. China followed closely in second place with USD 428.6 million, while Azerbaijan ranked third with USD 335.9 million.

The top ten trading partners on the import side accounted for 70.6% of Georgia’s total imports for the first half of 2026. The leading trio consists of Turkey in first place with USD 1,392.3 million, followed by Russia with USD 1,195.5 million, and China with USD 1,068.1 million.

Looking at specific commodity groups between January and June 2026, motor cars dominated the export list, generating USD 938.0 million and making up 24.2% of total exports. Petroleum and petroleum oils claimed the second spot at USD 486.9 million, while precious metal ores and concentrates placed third at USD 304.3 million.

Motor cars also topped the import chart for the first six months of 2026, with inbound shipments valued at USD 1,615.0 million, representing 17.8% of total imports. Petroleum and petroleum oils ranked as the second-largest import commodity group at USD 811.8 million, followed by medicinal products at USD 364.3 million.
