GeoStat: Georgia’s domestic exports surge by 63.5% in Jan–Aug 2026

Georgia’s total external merchandise exports (excluding undeclared trade) reached USD 5,422.5 million between January and August 2026, marking a 22.1% increase compared with the corresponding period of last year, according to a report by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GeoStat).

Domestic exports, excluding re-exports, accounted for 60.6% of total national exports.

According to GeoStat data, domestic exports experienced a dramatic 63.5% year-on-year surge, climbing to USD 3,286.6 million over the eight-month period.

The top ten trading partners accounted for 65.0% of Georgia’s total domestic exports during this timeframe. China ranked as the largest destination for domestic goods at USD 529.1 million, followed by Russia at USD 468.3 million and Türkiye at USD 297.3 million.

Petroleum and petroleum products topped the list of domestic export commodities between January and August 2026, generating USD 649.1 million and representing 19.8% of all domestic exports. Precious metal ores and concentrates placed second at USD 403.1 million, with ferro-alloys forming the third-largest category at USD 219.0 million.
