Geostat: Cargo turnover in Georgian ports rises 1.4% in third quarter of 2025

According to the National Statistics Office (GeoStat), in the third quarter of 2025, 4,461 ships entered Georgian ports and terminals. Of these, 48.9% were general cargo carriers, 26.9% liquid cargo carriers, 13.4% container ships, and the remaining 10.8% were bulk carriers and specialized vessels.

Compared to the same period in 2024, Georgian ports and terminals received: 54.6% more general cargo ships, 30.0% more specialized ships, 39.4% fewer container ships,7.0% fewer liquid cargo ships.

In Q3 2025, Georgian ports served 4.2 thousand passengers, representing a 2.1-fold increase compared to the same period of the previous year. Incoming passengers accounted for 50.4% of total passenger flow, slightly exceeding outgoing passengers.

Ports and terminals handled 4,293.2 thousand tons of cargo, a 1.4% increase year-on-year.
