GeoStat: Annual inflation in Georgia reaches 5.2% in October 2025

According to the National Statistics Office (GeoStat), Georgia’s inflation rate in October 2025 stood at 0.6% compared to the previous month, while the annual inflation rate was recorded at 5.2%.

GeoStat reports that, regarding core inflation, this indicator reached 2.7% in October 2025 compared to the same period last year. Excluding tobacco, the annual core inflation rate was slightly lower at 2.4%.

“The monthly inflation rate was primarily driven by price changes across several groups: Clothing and footwear saw prices rise by 8.2 per cent, contributing 0.37 percentage points to the monthly inflation. Within this group, prices increased by 16.9 per cent for footwear and 4.0 per cent for clothing.

Food and non-alcoholic beverages experienced a 0.3% increase in prices, adding 0.15 percentage points to the monthly figure. During this period, prices rose in subgroups such as sugar, jam, and other sweets (3.2 percent), fish (2.9 percent), bread and bakery products (2.5 percent), mineral and spring waters, non-alcoholic drinks, and natural juices (2.0 percent), as well as vegetables and herbs (0.5 percent), and meat and meat products (0.5 percent).

Conversely, prices fell in certain subgroups: fruits and grapes declined by 8.4%, milk, cheese, and eggs by 0.6%, oils and fats by 0.6%, and coffee, tea, and cocoa by 0.4%.

In the alcoholic beverages and tobacco group, prices increased by 1.2 per cent, contributing 0.08 percentage points to the monthly inflation. Prices for tobacco products rose by 1.7 per cent, while alcoholic beverages increased by 0.8 per cent,” the report published by Geostat states.
